The usual strategy for “getting breaks” is to play some good stuff on backup (doing tasty fills, not too much, but just in the right places — this sort of displays your musical competence), and when a solo opportunity is coming up — that is, just as the chorus is ending — look up at the lead singer as if to say “call on me”.
The 9th annual Amber Room Run from the Sun 5K, hosted by The Amber Room Colonnade, took place Thursday evening in Danbury. This year a record amount of over $30,000 was fundraised for Ann's Place! Over 400 runners and walkers are participated in this year's event. The race had an exciting finish, as the top three participants crossed the finish line within seconds of eachother! After the race, participants enjoyed a cookout featuring an outdoor barbeque, beer for 21+, and music.
Doug Polistena, Amber Room General Manager, states, 'We are honored and proud to have such an amazing turnout this year. We are already looking forward to next year's 10th Anniversary race!'

The top fundraising teams were Waterworks (raised $13,774), The Kane family (raised $4,606) and the Zezza team (raised $4,263). Waterworks employees added some excitement by offering a 'sponsor a runner' option which had their runners in superhero and fairy costumes.
